My advice would be to check out the various original games websites, their game forums for MCS3, IL-2 Sturmovik, and other sims. Many times you have to do a lot of different tweaks to get them to work.Since Win 10 is so new, and so little flight sims are being made, I dont know of any that are now compatible without tweaks or are being made with Win10 in mind. You can select the previous Windows OS, such as Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or 3.
You also can see how other CFS3 gamers have fixed problems by using one or more websites for CFS3 gamers. You still need to run it in compatibility mode, but it will work with no problems. For CFS3 ETO and Over Flanders Fields, there is a little more work to do, to change the paths in the bat files and in the registry, but its pretty easy to find them. Why Microsoft want to make it so difficult to run their own game I will never know No doubt they will block this route next but it will be as successful as their lame attempt to block classic shell in windows 10. I wish I could give you a link to it but I cant find it today. Yours may be different so after modechange to your resolution. Once I changed combat.cfg and added the tweak everything works the way it did in 1998. Fighter Jet Games Windows 8.1 And WindowsFighter Jet Games Windows 7 And ItI have used this on Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 and it has worked for me. It can also be modded using various community-created add-ons, but that takes some patience and following the mod install instructions to the letter. Fighter Jet Games For Free From TheirYou can download the base game for free from their official website or get it on Steam (that is, if you have a change of heart about them), but like I say, you have to buy the good versions of the warbirds if you want to fly them. You can also buy WWII air combat campaigns and maps (they have a WWII Normandy map) if you want the fully immersive experience. If you have any difficulties getting your bearings, check out the video tutorials on the Grim Reapers YouTube channel ( heres some Spitfire tutorials ) or, if videos arent your thing, theres always the large and extremely helpful forum community at forums.eagle.ru. Heres a little video montage I made recently of a Spitfire mission I flew with one of my fellow CSIM forum buddies (warning: harsh language and non-period rock and roll music). I also upped my mic volume since then since I can barely be heard (not a bad thing) in this video.
